Whiter teeth, naturally
Professional teeth whitening lightens natural tooth colour using dentist-supervised gels, for adults in Richmond with healthy teeth and gums who want a brighter shade.
What is professional teeth whitening?
Professional teeth whitening uses a peroxide-based gel to break down stains inside the enamel and lighten the natural colour of your teeth. It can be done in the chair in a single appointment, at home with custom-made trays, or as a combination of both.
Whitening only changes natural tooth structure. Existing fillings, crowns and veneers will not lighten, so we check these at a consultation first. Results vary from person to person and depend on the type of staining.

What to expect
- 01
Consultation and shade check
We examine your teeth, record your starting shade and confirm whitening is suitable for you.
- 02
Protecting your gums
For in-chair whitening, a protective barrier is placed over the gums before the gel goes on.
- 03
Whitening sessions
The gel is applied in timed cycles in the chair, or you wear custom trays at home for a set period each day.
- 04
Review
We compare your new shade with the starting point and talk through how to keep it.
What should I avoid after teeth whitening?
For the first 48 hours, avoid strongly coloured food and drinks such as coffee, red wine, curry and berries, and avoid smoking. Some temporary sensitivity is common and usually settles within a few days. A sensitive toothpaste can help.
